Why Shetland star Douglas Henshall really left BBC drama as Jimmy Perez after seven-year stint

I'll miss him and the place."Henshall later remarked that he had felt for some time that his character Jimmy’s story had reached a natural conclusion and wanted to explore other opportunities.Opening up to the BBC, the actor explained: "It was time to find a resolution to Perez's private life.“I never wanted to ruin the things that were unique to him and our series so it felt like the right time to wrap up his story in a way that would be satisfactory to everybody.
