Jeff Stelling is preparing for his final show with Sky Sports as the Premier League season comes to a close this weekend. The 68-year-old announced he would be leaving the broadcaster in April after previously intending to leave at the end of the 2021-22 season.
Stelling has worked for Sky since 1992 and has been the face of Soccer Saturday for 25 years. The presenter’s passion for the beautiful game, and encyclopedic knowledge of each team’s form and fortunes made him a household name among football supporters all across the country.
Stelling’s final show will be broadcast on Sky Sports News on Sunday from 3pm to 7.30 pm and he gave the reason for his departure, live on air. "It is now the right time to move on and give Sky Sports viewers a break from my relentless rants, bad gags and over-the-top celebrations of Hartlepool United goals.
