Billy Connolly has enjoyed a career in showbiz most artists can only dream of, with six decades of fame under his belt. But the musician-turned-comedian-turned-actor-turned-TV presenter, now 78, has announced he's quit work due to his ill health.
In 2013 he revealed he was showing signs of Parkinson's disease, and he soon declared that his stand-up comedy days were over.
Now, he's opened about his battle with the illness, admitting that he doesn't think he "has long left". Billy told The Sunday Times : "I don't want to be on stage with my symptoms showing.
I can't. "There are guys who do really well, there's an American boy who says, 'Shaking is the new cool.' He's got it on a T-shirt.
