Just one child testing positive for coronavirus could see their whole school sent home and kept in isolation for two weeks. The Government guidance for parents and carers was issued after the Prime Minister announced that primary school children would start returning to school from June 1.
It reveals what happens if an outbreak of coronavirus is detected in any one school and reveals that parents will not be fined if they choose not to send their children back to the classroom.
And announces that all children who have returned to school will be eligible for a coronavirus test if they show symptoms. On Sunday, the Government announced that children in reception, year one and year six, would be the first to return to their desks.
