From December 2 more than 20 million people face tougher tiered restrictions.When the national lockdown ends next Wednesday, England will revert back to the tiered system first introduced in October.However, it has been "strengthened" and Boris Johnson described it as "tougher" as the UK still battles the coronavirus pandemic.Health secretary Matt Hancock announced on Thursday (November 26) which areas would be placed in which tier.Greater Manchester will be placed in Tier 3, the 'Very High alert' tier, from December 2.Lancashire, Blackpool and Blackburn with Darwen are the other areas in the North West facing the strictest measures.As a result of our region being placed into Tier 3, it is therefore affecting all 10 boroughs in Greater.
