Rain is expected to hit the region later this week, as the UK recorded its hottest day of 2023 so far. According to the Met Office, Thursday (September 7) was provisionally the hottest day of the year so far, with 32.6C recorded in Wisley, Surrey.
In Manchester, the weather remained hot throughout the day, with highs of around 28C. Conditions were sunny and dry with overcast spells.

Although temperatures will remain a warm 26C, there could possibly be some drizzle throughout the afternoon and into the evening.
