When does Strictly Come Dancing start? Here’s who will be competing and when

Strictly Come Dancing will samba back onto our screens in just over a month’s time. The BBC One show is expected to record its first episode on Wednesday September 7, which will air the following Saturday September 10.Four new professional dancers are joining the team alongside some of the old favourites, and the celebrity line-up is slowly being revealed.

So far there are two former Coronation Street stars confirmed as contestants.This will be Strictly’s 20th year, with Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly expected to front the programme as usual.

First up is Will Mellor, the former Hollyoaks star who went on to play drug lord Harvey Gaskell on Corrie.Will, 46, is also known for his starring role on Two Pints Of Lager And A Packet Of Crisps.
