There's a record 20 candidates hoping to secure the position - with current mayor Sadiq Khan running for a second term. But with millions registered to vote and counting set to take longer than usual due to coronavirus safety measures, it could be a few days before we know the result.
Polls open at 7am on Thursday, May 6 and close at 10pm. The mayoral election coincides with the London Assembly elections, so Londoners will also be voting for their local members.
