the game show in honor of Veteran’s Day.Jordan started strong in the first game and correctly solved a good portion of the word puzzle, leaving the prompt to read “_ _ _ E _ OURSE _ F A ROUN_ OF A _ _ _ AUSE.”The veteran police officer gave the answer “Treat yourself a round of sausage” — which was wrong.“I’m sorry.
That’s not it,” host Ryan Seacrest told Jordan. Air Force veteran Kitina Thomas, the next contestant, gave the correct answer which was “Give yourself a round of applause.”“Although, Will, I kind of liked yours better,” Seacrest, 49, jokingly told Jordan, adding, “That sounds better than just clapping right now.”Jordan finished the game in third place with $8,000.
Thomas came in second with $10,500 and Army Reserves veteran Chantel Toran took first place with $13,000.After the first game, Jordan spoke to social media correspondent Maggie Sajak — also the daughter of retired host Pat Sajak — about his brutal mishap.“I tell you, when the lights are on and the stars, Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White, I just went blank,” he explained.
Jordan then told Maggie, 29, “If your dad, in retirement, is watching the show, maybe cracks a beer and has a laugh, it’ll be worth it.”Maggie promised that her and Pat, 78, will tune into the episode once it airs, while Jordan acknowledged he’s going to be ridiculed for his mistake.“I’m sure I’m gonna have sausages in my locker and police car when I get back, so we’ll try to have some fun with it,” he said.Seacrest, who replaced Pat, 78, as host this year, then joined the pair with a white cue card that he signed for Jordan’s family. “You’ve got a really big autograph,” Maggie told Jordan.“This is really gonna be special,” Jordan said.
