Contestant TaRhea Marshall managed to make her way into the legendary game show’s bonus round Friday with a whopping $25,898, and a chance to score a brand-new car.In the final round, Marshall was presented with the customary “R, S, T, L, N, E” letters after telling the show’s host, Pat Sajak, that she wanted to attempt the show’s “Food and Drink” category.After telling Sajak, 77, that she wanted to add the letters “C, B, G and A,” the puzzle read as: ” “BAGELS & _ _ _G_N_TS.”The pottery painter was then given 10 seconds to solve the mystery puzzle.
Marshall attempted to solve the puzzle by shouting “bagels and beignets” and “bagels and croissants,” but she ultimately failed.
The puzzle’s correct answer was later revealed by Sajak to be “bagels and doughnuts.”“You know a lot of shops have stopped spelling it the proper way,” Sajak said. “Now I have to look in here and see what we didn’t get,” he added, revealing that Marshall’s prize would have been a BMW.
