The much-anticipated big day has arrived and while it is often full of celebrations for many, others will be hoping to settle down in front of the TV when the evening comes around.
This includes soap fans who won't be without their usual fix as Emmerdale will be airing on both Christmas and Boxing Day. And we've already had a sneak peek at what is to come.
Last month the ITV soap's producer revealed they had pushed aside the 'fluffier' celebrations for something 'quite different in tone'.
Laura Shaw said at the time: "A lot of it is edgier for us for Christmas and I can tell you that definitely not every one of our villagers will be sat down eating their turkey with all the trimmings on Christmas day."
