The Hajj period will soon begin and will see Muslims worldwide travel to Mecca, Saudi Arabia in pilgrimage. The pilgrimage is one of the most important events in any Muslim's life and is considered one of the five Pillars of Islam -a fundamental practice that unites all Muslims.

Therefore, any adult Muslim who has the means to do so is obliged to undertake the sacred journey at least once in their life.

However, the Hajj cannot be undertaken at any time of the year and must be carried out during a ten-day period starting on the first and 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah (the 12th month in the Islamic calendar).
