Sky has launched a new TV that does not need a satellite dish or a box for the first time. The company has revealed a new TV called Sky Glass that runs via broadband and will open Sky up to over two million people in the UK and over six million across Europe.
Sky Glass does not work via TV cables or satellite dishes. Instead it comes with a single power cable and runs via WiFi meaning everything is already embedded in the TV.
Sky also plans to move to a subscription model for Sky Glass, meaning it can be bought from £13 per month. The TVs will still be available to buy outright from £849.
Dana Strong, Group Chief Executive, has announced Sky Glass is a launch event today where the company promised 'something magical'.
