Apple TV's latest docu-series explores the fascinating world of ingredients and cooking - and is narrated by a famous chef. René Redzepi, owner of three Michelin star restaurant Noma, in Copenhagen, Denmark, lends his voice - and cooking talents - for the eight-part series.

The official synopsis reads: "This global series explores the ingredients that built societies, shaped our beliefs and forever altered the human story. "From salt flats in Peru to coffee forests in Rwanda to wild tuna off the coast of Spain, each episode of Omnivore celebrates the way we grow, transform and consume the world’s best resources — the ones we eat." It's best known for its focus on foraging, invention and the interpretation of New Nordic Cuisine - with dishes including fried bacon, wild garlic and grilled cucumber and raw razor shell with parsley, buttermilk snow and horseradish.

Other notable dishes include The Hen and the Egg, a meal cooked by the diners themselves, which consists of potato chips, a wild duck egg, slightly wet hay, salt, herbs, wild forest plants, hay oil, thyme, butter, and wild garlic sauce.
