The original ITV series of Gladiators was a hit amongst fans, with millions tuning in to see the exciting and dramatic battles, the sculpted muscles and the figure-hugging lycra.
The popular series had an impressive eight-year stint, coming to an end in 2000. Since the end of the series, which was memorably hosted by John Fashanu and Ulrika Jonsson, life away from the cameras has proved to be just as action-packed for some of the athletes, for better or for worse.
