When Leeds United and Manchester United face each other on Sunday it will see one of the oldest rivalries in sport reignited.
The teams first faced off in 1906 and Leeds’ 3-0 win was followed up months later with a 3-1 revenge for Man Utd. The rivalry continued to grow over the decades, including some memorable physical battles during Don Revie’s time in charge of Leeds, and after the Yorkshire side’s return to the top flight last summer, the Premier League is able to welcome back one of football’s oldest and fiercest rivalries on a regular basis.
The first Premier League encounter between the two sides in 16 years ended with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men recording a memorable 6-2 victory in December.
