Chelsea have the chance to reach their third Champions League final when they face Real Madrid on Wednesday night. The Blues claimed their first elusive Champions League victory in 2012, having come so close on several occasions in the past, most notably when they lost to Manchester United on penalties in 2008.
They go into the semi-final second leg with Real Madrid holding a narrow advantage due to Christian Pulisic’s away goal during last week’s 1-1 draw in the first leg.
But the Blues will know they could have been out of sight after the first leg, having dominated Real in the first half and failed to capitalise on what was a hugely impressive performance.
