Up to 900,000 jobs are at risk as pubs and restaurants fight for survival with the looming prospect of a second lockdown likely to wipe out many.
The stark warning comes as new measures, including 10pm curfews, come into force in the north of England and London mayor Sadiq Khan urged ministers to place tighter restrictions on the capital as coronavirus cases rise rapidly.
