Boxer David Jamieson says a win in his eighth professional bout on Friday will cement a British title shot – but doesn’t yet have an opponent. The Westwood fighter was due to fight Switzerland’s Benoit Huber at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but his opponent pulled out and he hasn’t yet got a replacement, as the news went to press.Jamieson trusts promoter Sam Kynoch to sort him out, and says a win in London would put him in a mandatory position for a cruiserweight title shot. The 29-year-old said: “This will cement me a top-10 ranking in Britain, and at that point the other boys at the top of the tree can’t run.“If you’re in the top-10 you’re in a mandatory position to take a run at a British title.
