A Livingston teenager has received a maiden call-up to Scotland senior national men’s cricket team.All-rounder Jack Jarvis has been named in the squad for the first time and will be part of next month’s trip to Nepal.The 19-year-old, who started his career at Livingston and now plays for Grange will be part of the squad for the Scots’ final Cricket World Cup League Two matches for the 2019-2023 cycle.They currently sit atop the table and have booked their place at the World Cup qualifier tournament in Zimbabwe which takes place in June and July.Head coach Shane Burger heaped praise on the teenage ace, who represented his country at the 2022 Under-19 World Cup.He commented: “Jack is developing really nicely as a cricketer and he is probably the most improved Scottish male player in the last 12 months,” Burger said on his selection.“He has really matured as a player and he is going to develop into a really good all-rounder.

I think taking him on a trip like this will be a wonderful experience for him and will allow him to develop his skills, develop relationships with those around him and build from there.”Scotland will play both Nepal and Namibia twice in ODIs during their trip with the first game taking place on February 15.Don't miss the latest news from the West Lothian Courier.
