Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford (born 31 October 1997) is an English professional footballer who plays as a forward for Premier League club Manchester United and the England national team.

A Manchester United player from the age of seven, he scored two goals on both his first-team debut against Midtjylland in the UEFA Europa League in February 2016 and his Premier League debut against Arsenal three days later.

He also scored in his first Manchester derby match, his first EFL Cup match and his first UEFA Champions League match. With United, Rashford has so far won the FA Cup, EFL Cup, FA Community Shield and UEFA Europa League.

West Ham manager David Moyes gives verdict on Manchester United winning goal

David Moyes was frustrated with the way his West Ham United side switched off in the final seconds to allow Manchester United a dramatic winner at Old Trafford.

But Moyes had no issues with United's winning goal, which was reviewed by VAR following a tight offside call against Edinson Cavani, who set up Marcus Rashford for a tap-in in front of the Stretford End.

The footage showed Cavani was very close to being offside, but the Premier League released an image that showed he was being played onside by Craig Dawson.

Plenty of Hammers fans were unconvinced by that explanation, but Moyes was happy to place his faith in VAR. He found it harder to stomach Rashford's late winner, however, and started his press conference after the game by declaring he was "p****d off with that result, that's for sure." Of the goal, Moyes said: " I’ve not seen it again, by all accounts everyone seems to think it’s fine so we have to trust VAR that they're getting decisions right." United's 93rd-minute winner involved all three substitutes, with Anthony Martial passing to Cavani, who squared it to Rashford, but Moyes didn't think those changes actually changed the game and was more frustrated with how his side switched off in the lead up to the goal.
