West End star blinded after horror attack as thug smashes through windscreen

West End star Mike Holoway has been left partially blind after a terrifying attack while he was waiting at traffic lights in his van.The 63 year old needed stitches in his right eyeball after a thug smashed a metal object through his van window in East London.This horrific incident has resulted in Mike needing three more surgeries over the next nine months in an attempt to save his vision.

Mike, who previously played the lead role in Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat for four years, believes the attack was an attempted robbery.The horror ordeal took place on 18 December, with Mike describing the following weeks as a "roller coaster", reports the Mirror.

He shared on Instagram that his eye is stable but he has "many months ahead" for it to heal. Speaking to The Sun, Mike recounted the terrifying ordeal, saying a man "smashed his fist through the driver's side window".

He said he was hit directly in the face and knocked across to his passenger seat. "I had to have metallic fragments pulled out of my face," he said. "You think you know how you can react in these situations.
