msn.comknew he was gay before he knew what it meant but growing up LGBT+ in Barry in the 1990s was never going to be easy. He endured years of bullying in the playground, taunted by 'limp wrist' gestures from other children and enduring catcalls of "gay" and "poof".
He eventually looked up the word 'gay' in the dictionary to find out what exactly he was being accused of but, deep down, Scott already knew.
Looking back now as an adult he realises he hadn't yet come to terms with what it would mean for him and his life. "I knew I was gay before I understood what the word meant," Scott wrote in his 2016 book, called Out.
It's these memories of the schoolyard which has prompted Scott to lend his weight behind a new campaign encouraging inclusive.
