Weel-kent face in Lanarkshire farming community takes up new role with NFU

A well-known face in the world of farming in Lanarkshire is taking the helm as a regional manager with the National Farmers Union (NFU).Sheena Foster was brought up on a farm in Strathaven and was a very active young farmer and a keen supporter of local shows.Before joining NFUS, Sheena had been a national manager for the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs (SAYFC) for the last five years.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Sheena is also secretary of East Kilbride Show Society. Sheena will now head-up NFU Scotland’s Forth and Clyde Region. Looking at her new position within NFU Scotland, she said: “Through my role at SAYFC, I have gained valuable experience co-ordinating and recruiting as well as organising and promoting events and I hope to use these skills to assist NFU Scotland members in the region. “Alongside my work on behalf of farmers in Forth and Clyde, I look forward to working with partners, supporters, stakeholders and external organisations to make sure the voice of food and farming across the whole supply chain in Forth and Clyde is heard loud and clear.” NFU Scotland’s national operations manager, James Buchanan, said:
