A couple, who have been married nearly seven decades have revealed their secret to lasting love. Peter, 90, and Eileen, 89, have also been together for decades, having tied the knot in August 1958.
They first met at Manchester University when they attended a dance and the rest was history. Peter, from Surrey, and Eileen, from Nottingham, have shared some very touching advice to those seeking everlasting love.
The couple said: “[It’s about] knowing what your partner needs and accepting them for who they are. “We accept each other’s weaknesses.” One of their favourite memories together is their time spent in Edinburgh, where they had their honeymoon.
They now live together at Middleton Lodge Care Home in Derby. Alan and Trudy Tomlinson, who both live in the same care home, first met at a youth social event - and have also chipped in with some hilarious love advice.
