Cleaning the oven can be a real pain as we try and retrieve the remains of dinners gone by out from the small nooks and crannies which seem impossible to reach.

But it turns out we may have been making the job a lot harder for ourselves than it needs to be after a simple hack was shared online.

The glass door can get particularly grubby as food stains and scorch marks build up, and we usually spend far too long on our hands and knees attempting to scrub it clean.

One woman who knew the feeling all too well said she had struggled to reach the area between the two sheets of glass in her oven for more than 20 years, trying kitchen towels and even skewers to get the job done, as reported by the Daily Star.
