The man, who we are not naming to prevent repercussions, says he is in Kabul, moving locations every day to avoid detection as Taliban troops carry out 'door-to-door searches'.
He fears his British citizenship and previous work with the Army will make him a target for the militant group which seized control of the country on Sunday.
