We ate at Italiana Fiftyfive's new Didsbury restaurant and one show-stopping dish stole all the attention

A third Italiana Fiftyfive restaurant - formerly Cibo - has opened in Manchester. The authentic Italian restaurant, which already has venues on Liverpool Road and within the Great Northern Warehouse in Deansgate, opened its new Didsbury site on Wilmslow Road in spectacular fashion on Thursday night (August 31) as part of a lavish VIP launch.

The likes of Waterloo Road star and former Coronation Street actress Saira Chouhdry with her daughter Leah Chouhdry, Ibiza Weekender star Chloe Chaloner, Rochdale AFC footballer Tyrese Sinclair and Irish footballer Megan Campbell were amongst the lucky few in attendance to try the restaurant’s food ahead of its opening. Now open to the public, the restaurant serves a selection of fresh fish of the day, including wild Scottish monkfish, seared king scallops and pan fried Anglesey farmed sea bass fillet, as well as lamb shanks, chicken fillet, veal escalopes, and fillet steak.

There are also a variety of pizzas and pasta dishes to choose from as well as antipasti and side dishes. The restaurant itself offers a modern, glamorous and chic atmosphere with booths of yellow leather seats and white tablecloths matched with light faux marble walls and bare filament light bulbs adding to the decor.
