Wayne Rooney unrecognisable on date night with Coleen in bizarre Instagram post

Wayne Rooney was barely recognisable as he dressed up as Mrs Doubtfire during a theatre date night with his wife, Coleen. The couple, enjoying some quality time together, attended the theatre and ventured backstage where the Manchester United and England icon tried on costumes.

Following their evening, Coleen took to Instagram to post about their experience: "Really enjoyed the show... lots of laughs throughout!" She posted a photo with Wayne under the theatre's marquee.

On her Stories, she shared a clip of Wayne, 39, donned in Mrs Doubtfire's facial prosthetics and a grey wig, noting: "And lots of laughs afterwards!! @waynerooney." As Rooney showed off his transformation, laughter from Coleen and chuckles from the stage actors could be heard in response to his appearance.

Rooney was sacked from his managerial position at Plymouth Argyle earlier this month following a struggle for form with the Championship team.
