The former England striker was pictured with the group after a night out in Manchester. A witness claims to have seen the footballer at a spa in Cheshire on Sunday afternoon, before the photos came to light.
They said Rooney drank rosé wine and even paid for people's food at the Mottram Hall resort. Some customers said Rooney had covered the bill for their lunch and he was said to be "in a great mood", according to a witness.
