Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has been touted as a candidate to become part of Ruben Amorim’s backroom staff in a role that would see him help out with United’s current forward options such as Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund.
Danish international Hojlund has struggled to find consistent form in the Premier League this season, having only found the back of the net twice in 15 league matches so far this campaign.
All-time United record goalscorer Rooney would surely be able to offer some of his deadly striking-knowhow to the 21-year-old who could benefit from some advice from a former player who has scored over 200 goals in the Premier League.
Rooney, who recently left his role as head coach at Plymouth Argyle, has received the backing to provide the current crop of United forwards with the help that they need in front of goal by another United legend.
