Warrington Wolves have emerged as the 'likely destination' for homesick NRL star George Williams, according to reports in Australia.
The Canberra Times reports that the England international is keen to return to Super League at the end of the season after informing the Raiders of his struggles down under.
Williams is understood to have committed to seeing out the season, but beyond that, a return to Super League is thought to be his preferred option.
But the report claims that it's Warrington, rather than his boyhood club Wigan, that is in the driving seat to sign him. The Wire look unlikely to retain Blake Austin with his contract set to expire at the end of the season, while Gareth Widdop is repeatedly linked with a return to the NRL.
