People in central Europe are being urged to stock up on food and charge up battery packs in preparation for extreme weather in the continent.
It comes as severe flooding is forecast to hit the Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Germany, Slovakia and Hungary over the weekend.
The Met Office warned that there would be "extreme rainfall" at the end of this week, with 200 to 300mm of rain possible in some parts of southern and central Europe - double the average for September.
The weather agency also said rivers may see "one in 100 year events" and over a meter of snow could fall over the Alps in Austria and Germany.
