Households have been warned not to try a viral hack to remove condensation in your home as it can make you 'very ill' and damage your property.

The trick has been growing in popularity across TikTok, with people using washing-up liquid to prevent condensation from forming on windows.

The trick involves applying a thin layer of washing-up liquid onto a dry microfiber cloth and then buffing it onto the windows.

Despite its effectiveness, people are now being urged to stop using this method. A plumber has warned that while it may keep your windows clear, it could cause severe damage to your home and potentially harm your health. He explained that the moisture might seep into the walls and ceiling, leading to dangerous mould growth. "Removing mould from your walls is more difficult than removing it from PVC," he said. "If the mould does develop in your walls then it could cost thousands to fix and could make you very ill in the process.", reports the Express.
