For many, drawing on a perfect winged eyeliner is a tricky task, no matter how often you practise. Shaky hands, hooded eyelids and less than 20:20 vision can all leave your feline flick looking more smudgy than sharp.
Which is why, when we sat down with make-up-artist-to-the-royals Hannah Martin – who has her very own beauty advent calendar out this year in association with OK!
Beauty Box, priced at £100 but worth over £570 – we couldn't resist asking her how the pros do it so effortlessly. And, happily, she wasn't one to gatekeep: “One tip I learned from [acclaimed make-up artist and dame] Pat McGrath is to draw the line on first with a pale grey eyeshadow," Hannah advises. "You can tweak it until your heart’s content and then when you’re happy with how the wing looks, go over it with a black liner." Hannah jokes. "If I really don’t know how to do a wing on a client’s eye shape, I just apply medical tape to the corners and use this as a guide.
