A warning has been issued to all dog owners in the UK. A popular brand of dog food is being recalled over fears it could contain pieces of metal.

Dog owners are being urged to check if they have any of the affected tins. Anyone who does have them is being urged not to feed them to their pooch. Sharp or pointy objects can potentially perforate dog's intestines, and immediate veterinary care should always be sought if you suspect your dog has eaten even small bits of metal.

Customers who have purchased the product have been advised to not give it to their pet, and instead return it to the store where they bought it for a refund.
