Families are being urged to stay vigilant after a teenage girl was reportedly assaulted in Tameside. Greater Manchester Police has confirmed it is investigating an incident near Audenshaw Reservoir on Monday afternoon (May 9).
Officers believe the incident is isolated, but some parents have been sent a warning by text from schools this week after a report was made to police.
Enquiries are ongoing and members of the public are being told to expect an increased police presence in the area while the investigation takes place.
A spokesperson for GMP said: "We received a report from a member of the public that a girl, believed to be a teenager, was assaulted by a male near Audenshaw Reservoir at about 4.30pm on Monday, May 9 2022.
