A list of ‘Warm Spaces’ - public venues where local people can keep warm instead of being cold at home - has been created.Perth and Kinross Council has responded to the cost-of-living crisis by drawing up a list of public locations where citizens can go without question to feel welcome and warm.
Beginning with CPK’s libraries and adding to this village halls and churches, a number of points across the county where the heating’s on - sometimes with social activities and free refreshments - have been identified.
In Ward 10, Perth City South, the Warm Spaces are Dewars Centre, Glover Street, Perth Leisure Pool, Glasgow Road, Moncrieffe Community Centre, Glenlyon Road, Craigie and Moncreiffe Messy Church, Moncreiffe Church, Glenbruar Crescent, the last of which offers a warm space, refreshments plus activities.
In Perth City North, the council points people to go along to Letham Climate Challenge at 35-39 Garth Avenue, with a rail of warm clothes, open on Tuesdays from 10am-12.30pm and 1pm–3.15pm.
