Walker flown to hospital after suffering suspected broken ankle in Saddleworth

manchestereveningnews.co.ukA walker was rushed to hospital after being rescued following a fall in Oldham. The man was helped by mountain rescue teams after falling at Birchen Clough, Saddleworth.
He is thought to have suffered a broken ankle during the incident on Saturday evening. Oldham Mountain Rescue Team was called in by the North West Ambulance Service to help bring the man to safety.
The team also requested further help from the Marine and Coastguard helicopter, which has a winch, as well as further support from Holme Valley Mountain Rescue Team.
