Vogue Williams has said "we shouldn’t be ashamed" after revealing she lost her virginity to a 27 year old when she was just a teenager. The Irish model, 36, first revealed her controversial virginity story on September 1 when talking on the Boots podcast Taboo Talk, alongside comedian Russell Kane and Too Hot To Handle narrator Desiree Burch.

Vogue's co-presenters both had differing opinions with both Russell and Desiree sounding shocked. At the time, Vogue said: "The guy I was with was 27 and I was 18. "That was good for me because he kind of took the lead because I don't know if I would've..." Before she could finish Russell cut her off, labelling the 27 year old as a "dirty b*****d".

Vogue asked: "Oh my God does that sound really bad?" Her revelation grabbed the headlines in the days that followed and Vogue has since admitted to being bemused by the attention.

However, she says the whole point of the podcast series is to help people become less squeamish about such discussions. Speaking to The Sun, she explained: “It’s about normalising conversations exactly like that. “I’m not one of those people who will go into detail about my sex life, but talking about virginity can help a lot of people, because we shouldn’t be ashamed of these things. “We did a whole episode on vulvas with Anna Richardson from Naked Attraction – it’s just a part of our body, nothing to be embarrassed about.” Responding to Vogue's virginity admission Desiree explained how these situations are "not uncommon" but stated that it can seem different looking back.
