VMA chaos as Olivia Rodrigo's set crashes down during song - sparking horror

Celebrities and viewers of Olivia Rodrigo's performance at the MTV VMAs were left shocked as parts of the set crashed down around her as she sang her hit song, Vampire.

As the 20 year old belted out the track amongst a forest-themed set, complete with trees and moss-like material, things appeared to go wrong.

Sparks flew overhead and trees fell down as Olivia appeared to look concerned whilst still belting out the track. Suddenly, an aide rushed onto the stage and ushered her off, leaving the audience, including Selena Gomez, looking momentarily stunned.

Selena held up a hand to her ears as she looked around, bewildered. But all was not as it seemed, as fans of Olivia Rodrigo will know that the same sort of things happen in the music video for Vampire - so the VMA performance was all scripted.
