Virgin River fans say Netflix producers 'butchered' show storyline compared to the books

Fans of Netflix's hottest new show Virgin River have been left disappointed, as they hit out at producers for "butchering" one particular storyline in the romantic drama.Based on the Virgin River series books by Robyn Carr, the two main characters are portrayed by Martin Henderson and Alexandra Breckenridge, as Mel and Jack.It tells the story of a nurse practitioner from Los Angeles, who moves to a remote Northern California town and is surprised to discover who and what she finds in her new surrounds.

However, although the series is drawing in a large audience it has gained criticism from some lovers of Carr's book series. Taking to Reddit, some fans hit out at Netflix for creating a "stupid" storyline. "I read the Virgin River books years ago, before the show came out and I just started re-reading them," one person wrote on the forum. "I forgot how good Shelter Mountain is.
