David and Victoria Beckham were reportedly leading separate lives as their marriage reached a crisis point, according to shocking revelations in a new book. The couple were allegedly so distant that they barely communicated, maintaining what was described as a "distant business relationship".
The tension between the pair was reportedly so severe eight years ago that each of their publicists were "feeding negative stories" about the other, claims author Tom Bower. In a surprising turn of events, Beckham is said to have accused his wife and her publicist of "launching a media war" against him.
However, the couple managed to stay together and work through their issues, just as they did when their marriage was first rocked by Rebecca Loos' allegations of an affair with the football star."Despite the Beckhams not being able to conceal their separate lives, they remained united in support of the Brand," Bower alleges.
His book, The House of Beckham, paints a starkly different picture compared to the Netflix documentary, which was executive produced by David's production company.
