Murder detectives have made two arrests after a man was stabbed "several times" on a residential street in Cheshire. The victim has now been named as Lloyd Velasquez, aged 34.
At around 8.20pm yesterday police were called to reports that a man had been assaulted on Summertrees Road, Ellesmere Port. Officers attended the scene, and Mr Velasquez was treated by paramedics at the scene before being taken to the Countess of Chester Hospital.
Sadly, despite the best efforts of all those involved, he has since died. Mr Velasquez is from Ellesmere Port. His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers at this time.
Cheshire Constabulary said in a statement: "Enquiries in relation to the incident have been ongoing throughout the night, and it is now believed that the victim was assaulted by three men who were known to him. "Two men have since been arrested in relation to the incident, a 19-year-old man and a 21-year-old man, both from Ellesmere Port.
