Victim knocked out in brutal attack at pub after England match

Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after an alleged attack at a pub in Bolton. Officers responded to reports of an assault at The Dragonfly pub on Nelson Square off Bradshawgate at around 11.10pm on Tuesday, June 25, GMP said.

The victim was reportedly knocked unconscious in the incident. They needed stitches above their eye, officers said. The attack happened after England drew 0-0 to Slovenia in a Euros group match. Police have today (July 8) released an image of a man they want to speak to about the attack. The man appears to wearing a football shirt and a white cap.

Anyone who recognises him, or who has any information about the incident, should contact officers. A GMP spokesperson said: "Officers are appealing for information following an assault at the Dragonfly, Bradshawgate, Bolton on 25 June 2025 at around 11:10pm.
