Vernon Kay has said 'the word is out' as he confirmed an epic return to his hometown. The BBC Radio 2 star took to social media to reveal he'd be returning to Bolton as part of a special show. "We are going raving," Vernon declared on his Instagram Story on Monday (August 12) as he revealed part of BBC Radio 2 Dance's Sound of the 90s live tour.

Alongside a poster, which confirmed he'll be heading the Albert Halls in Bolton on September 20, the 50-year-old told his fans and followers: "The word is out." It comes after Vernon was seen enjoying a summer break with his wife Tess Daly ahead of her return to Strictly Come Dancing.

The couple, who tied the knot back in 2003 and have two daughters, Phoebe, 18, and Amber, 13, together, didn't say where they were but it was clear they had ditched the UK and were spending some time together.
