Vernon Kay has opened up about his experiences of early parenthood with his and Tess Daly's two daughters, Phoebe, 20, and Amber, 15.
After a 51-year-old BBC Radio 2 listener revealed they had two children under the age of two, Vernon offered his "thoughts and prayers", before reflecting on his own parenting journey.
The 50-year-old presenter recounted how their first child was difficult to get to sleep, which led them to alter their approach with Amber.
He said: "You know with your second child... first child, you sterilise everything, dummy falls on the floor, you then put it in the steriliser for another three and a half hours to make sure it's clean. "Second one, [you] just ram it in your mouth [swooshing sound], 'there you, go have that'." Vernon went on to say that the pair also decided to let Amber cry herself to sleep at times, which he believes worked out well in the end. "With Amber, we completely ignored her.
