Plus, she also received an Oscar nomination for Best Actress. Since then, Brenda has continued to serve as one of Britain's most beloved actors, and for the last 13 years, has portrayed the lead character, Detective Chief Inspector Vera Stanhope in the ITV crime drama series, Vera.
