Vehicle bursts into flames after three-car crash as emergency services race to Scots road

A vehicle burst into flames following a three-car crash in East Lothian earlier this afternoon. The crash happened on the A199 near Dunbar at around 4.20pm and emergency services have been at the scene since.Edinburgh Live report the incident took place near Foxlake Adventures, with cars turning on the road and coming back towards Dunbar.

One East Lothian bus service, the X7, has been diverted due to the incident, with Lothian Buses posting an update on social media.

Another user on Twitter said: “A199 between East Linton and Dunbar closed due to an accident. Buses diverted and delayed.” The A199 was formerly the main A1 but now runs between Dunbar, East Linton and all the way to the outskirts of Edinburgh.A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We are currently dealing with a vehicle alight on the A199.“We received the call at 16:17 and mobilised an initial two appliances, with a further two shortly after.
