Variety Promotes William Earl to Executive Digital Director

Earl is based in New York and reports to Cynthia Littleton and Ramin Setoodeh, Variety‘s co-editors-in-chief. He has been with the venerable entertainment business news brand since 2020, signing on as a consultant before he was quickly recruited to serve as editor of Variety.com. “William Earl has transformed Variety‘s digital operations since he joined us five years ago.
He’s helped take our digital audience to new heights. And he’s a strong leader and a seasoned journalist. He’s earned this promotion through hard work and dedication,” said Littleton and Setoodeh.
Earl joined Variety parent company PMC in 2011, serving as director of digital development before returning to the newsroom.
